You Disappear 004

Selva aimé - al principio, I always enjoy and want to share every release I discover from this Argentinian label called Bruma. I tried ordering a few tapes but believe they were lost in the mail unfortunately, still though, I find so much music I love through their circle. The releases always remind me of the gentle and organic ambient music I discover from Japan. Lost in field recordings and texture, I love it all.

Untitled (Piano Day 2018) - Sergio Diaz De Rojas, I believe this song was originally shared as part of a playlist from Nils Frahm celebrating piano day, a day where composes would share compositions celebrating the piano. If I remember I think Sergio released this for a limited time on his Bandcamp and it quickly became a favorite of mine from his work which I already admired. His piano compositions are always dripping with sentimental warmth and mystery and I frequently revisit them.

Fall is Farewell- Sam Prekop, I have been following the music of Sam Prekop since way back in his days with Sea and Cake. Unlike many artists who follow along one specific path through their carrier he always surprises me by constantly evolving and exploring new sound and this release was no different, full of slowly evolving melodic loops from synthesizers that hypnotize me as I listen in closely.

Hyperborea - Gonzalo Bubilo, Back to Argentina and Bruma, another haunting piece released from this label. This is part of a compilation of music made in relation to the wind from various artists. The whole release is well worth your time, the entire discography of this label is to be honest. When I come across music like this from artists seemingly tucked away out of sight I always wonder how it could be possible that a larger audience has not yet discovered it. Maybe my ears are more niche than most, who knows. I just know when I discover something that feels like it came from a place of genuine love for its creation. No matter the genre it makes all the difference in the world.

Hold On - Zeb Samuels, I cant remember how I stumbled across this album but I was immediately taken by its positivity. It often comes across almost too sincere and maybe a bit campy to some but if your willing to let yourself get lost in the riddim like sway of it there is a lot to love here and as far as I’m concerned anyone willing to release music about positive thinking in this chaotic world is ok by me.

You Disappear Podcast: In this space you will find music, field recordings, and anything else that fits an understated sense of calmness of any kind. Sometimes it will barely whisper, and other times it may rest on the edge of noise, it’s hard to define but it’s easy to navigate. Press play, take a break, and get lost. I’m sure you could use it from time to time. I know I can.

Please note, music shared here is shared a listening guide. I have been making these digital mixtapes for over a decade and still feel its a great way to share new music with others, even in todays streaming music landscape. If you come across something you love I have included links directly to artists websites or Bandcamp pages. Always purchase an artists music as close to their pocket as you can get. At very least, use a streaming service to contribute further to their passion. Never copy or distribute this feed or its contents it will never be monetized and will never be.
